An Introduction to Delta Sigma Converters - by Uwe Beis.

When looking for an introduction to delta sigma conversion I found that most explanations were from a very theoretical point of view. It took me a while to understand how Delta Sigma converters really work. So I decided to write this introduction for people who prefer circuit diagrams to reading abstract equations.

A delta sigma ADC or DAC always consists of a delta sigma modulator which produces the bitstream and a low pass filter

Let's Have Some Feedback on IIRs - Part 1 - by Michael Francis

A large percentage of filters implemented in the digital domain are Finite Impulse Response (FIR) filters. These types of filters are used over a wide range of sample rates, and are well supported by various tools, software, and IP cores. Another type of digital filter is the Infinite Impulse Response (IIR) filter, which is not as well supported and is generally used in the lower sample rates (i.e., < 200KHz). The IIR uses feedback in order to compute outputs, and it is known as a recursive filter. This article looks at various IIR filter types and structures that are available . more>>
